Improving transport systems on the Congo Nile Trail

A series of workshops started to improve transport systems along the Congo Nile Trail. The workshops serve to create linkages between various actors on the Congo Nile Trail and supply visitors on the trail with information on how to get transport or porters on the trail.

Monday the 7th of March was the start of a series of workshops held in the Kivu Belt to coordinate and improve transport systems along the Congo Nile Trail. The workshop served to come up with various solutions for transport needs for visitors on the hiking and biking trail.

More than 20 representatives from various transport cooperatives, hotels and guides working along the Congo Nile Trail met to discuss solutions. The focus of the workshops was everything from solutions to transporting luggage to emergency transportation for tourists.

 The following workshops are planned for the week:

Monday, Rubavu
Tuesday, Rutsiro
Wednesday, Karongi
Thursday, Nyamasheke,
Friday, Rutsiro
